ENGLISH CHANNEL -- British entrepreneur Sir Richard Branson, in a dinner jacket and bow tie, with Neil Jenkins, left, managing director of Gibbs Aquada, nears the French coast at Calais after regaining the record for crossing the English Channel in an amphibious vehicle. Using a Gibbs Aquada - -which can reach speeds of more than 100 m.p.h. on land and 30 m.p.h. on water -- Branson made the crossing in about 90 minutes, beating the previous record of six hours which was held by two Frenchmen.
